This book was an absolute treasure. From moments of laugh-out-loud hilarity to moments that actually made me weep, blended together with some of the most romantic scenes I’ve read in a long, long time.

I loved Pauline, with her tenacity, her loyalty, and even her vulnerability. She was the perfect match for Griff, and I loved that he seemed to recognize the fact on some deeper level even when he couldn’t consciously understand why, no matter how much he tried to deny the fact.

The tragedy that occurred before this book started was heartbreaking, and there was a lot of ugliness that had to be purged before any healing could begin, and I admit, I even enjoyed that part as well, given the authors immense skill in writing scenes that could have been absolute torture to read.

What really cinched this book for me as such a keeper were the many subtly romantic moments, perfectly scattered throughout the book, that made me fall in love with Griff and Pauline just as much as they fell for each other.

A resounding 5/5 Stars.
