Ride the Fire - Pamela Clare {Originally read November 2009}
{Re-Read December 2012}

I still enjoy this book.

There are a lot of heavy issues -- the hero was tortured and raped, the heroine was molested as a child, there are some serious political issues, and quite a bit of war.. That's not even counting the personal issues between the hero and heroine, nor the hero's issues with his family.

There's tons of action, almost bordering on too much action actually, and the romance is very slow-building, which fits well with the history of the characters.

It's a story that sticks with you though, as you can see, I first read it back in 2009, and I sought it out again here in 2012 because someone mentioned something that reminded me of it.

Still a solid 4.5/5, and maybe in a few years, I'll end up reading it again.

(BTW I think it's being re-issued in 2013 on Kindle, but I don't know if it's being re-edited or anything. I'll be interested in finding out, if anyone has any information.)
