I'm very torn on the final rating of this book. I feel as though I were a victim of a bait and switch, as there was no indication of a major, game-changing plot twist in the blurb.
This book was |thisclose| to being a DNF, and it was only my interest in a secondary romance that was developing that kept me going. That said, I did gradually come accustomed to the twist and even found myself enjoying the story again as it progressed.
I WILL say that this book needed a professional editor. There were far too many grammatical/spelling mistakes as well as an abuse of commas and page breaks, making the writing feel quite choppy at times.
I'll have to come back and give a final rating when I write my full review, because I can't decide just how much weight to give to the fact that I, in all seriousness, almost didn't finish this one compared to the fact that I DID enjoy the majority of it.
